Roadtrip 2019 Fall: Vancouver - Richland - Twin Falls - Provo - Kanab - Yucca Valley - Paso Robles - Sacramento - Brookings - Yachats - Cannon Beach - Vancouver

Day 40 - Our neighborhood, featuring the Noah Purifoy Art Museum

Our own backyard – borrowed for the week.

The great spirit of our next door neighbours.

There are many watch dogs in the Yucca Valley – but these folks have opted for the watch horse.

That's our neighborhood.  It's sparsely settled, but there are houses everywhere.

An outdoor room with a view. Such is life in Joshua Tree.

That's our place – the monastery.  The spaceship has not been threatening, other than the usual low thrumming sound.

Roadrunners indeed run on roads.

We return to Noah Purifoy two years later. The legs are still kicking.

If you can't read the brown signs, the one on the left reads "white" and the one on the right reads "colored".

One of the two theatres on site.

The spaceship is everywhere.

White things tangle.

The director's chairs await.

I have no idea.

One of several "dwellings" on site, but I dunno if I'd dwell here for long.

Bike teeter.

It's always useful to have spare letters handy.

It's all in the details.

The railway every kid wants.

This one's pretty hard to explain. Will leave it up to your imagination.

Yet another view room.

With apologies to Manuel Alvarez Bravo, who might have been Noah's inspiration for this work.

It's a Purifoy sunset.
